A pet door is a convenient way to provide freedom to an active pet. The Ideal is our least expensive pet door option. The glass is 1/8" tempered safety glass, and the pet door frame immediately surrounding the flap is plastic. Comes with plastic cover to close off the pet door. The rest of the frame is aluminum. Ideal pet doors are available in White and Satin (brushed aluminum) frame colors. This is a no-tools installation, although the included pin lock does require drilling. Every Ideal pet door comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

The difference between the Cat Flap size and the small sizes is that the Cat Flap has a 4 way lock. It can be set for In Only, Out Only, Locked, or Open. The small has the typical slide in locking cover. There is also an electronic E-Cat version which will work with cats and small dogs. It functions more reliably with short legged dogs since the collar key needs to get near the bottom of the flap which is about 5 " off the ground to trigger the electronic lock.     Ideal Fast Fit panel

    We have double sliders between our living room and the family room. We also have 3 cats that like to lay in the family room sun puddles but leaving the doors open means the AC in the family room is lost into the formal living room which we don't often use. I wanted a panel with a pet door that didn't require permanent fixing and this product fit that requirement. It's wonderful. No tools to install. We keep one door stationary and use the other as a people door. The cats weren't sure about it even after we demonstrated it but after a week they're now going in and out without any problems.     This was the easiest and most efficient installation I could have asked for! I used it in a rental property and I quickly put it in when I got there and removed it when I left!

    A sharp set of chamfering tools combined with a variable speed motor might give a cleaner appearance to the open drilled holes.

    After searching all over the internet, local pet stores and home improvement stores, I decided to try the Pet Door Store, and ordered this door. I viewed the video, and it seemed very easy to install. It was exactly as I had hoped. When it arrived, my patio door had an extra space at the bottom in which it wouldn't quite fit. I called the store, and they told me how to remove the top piece and have it trimmed to fit my patio door. I went to a local sheet metal store which trimmed down the piece while I waited. It's a perfect fit now, and my little dog is already practicing going through it. Love it!

    Who says an aluminum pet won’t fit in vinyl sliding door. Pet Door Store said it would work. Took a chance bought the door took longer to unpack it than to install it! Great door dog loves it!
